The TÜV Rheinland Group is an international service provider and market leader with 340 locations worldwide. As an independent and neutral organisation, TÜV Rheinland inspects and certifies equipment, machinery and services with reference to their relevant performance guidelines and standards.
The services provided are adapted specifically for each individual sector of industry and are, as a result, in line with the special needs of each field.

Our guided tour takes the party through the photovoltaic test laboratory which includes the biggest solar simulator in Europe operated by the TÜV in Cologne. This artificial sun has enabled testing of large-format photovoltaic modules, which convert sunlight into electrical energy, in the laboratory since 1996.
In this way, solar modules can be tested and certified, thus making a valuable contribution to the further development of solar technology.

The guided tour will show the individual testing stations in the laboratory and demonstrate, among other things, the way the modules are subjected to hail shots, UV light and wind load.
